Warner Bros. Television (WBTV) Group will bring "SCI-FI FIX" to Joost. This means we could see "Babylon 5" and "Max Headroom" online this month.

Also, Joost has released the "Now For Friends" edition, which means beta testers such as myself now have a seemingly open ended amount of invites to give away. Please use the form on the Contact page if you want me to send you an invite. Please include a first and last name.

Life in the Fast Lane
The News - Interenet
Written by Michael Francois

Comcast CEO Brian Roberts demonstrated what DOCSIS 3.0 can do earlier this week at The Cable Show, previewing the path the cable industry will take to 160MB download speeds. You can read about the channel bonding nature of the new standard over at Cable Labs, the research consoritum of the cable industry. They also have a powerpoint on DOCSIS on their site.

Comcast and the rest of the cable companies are really trying to hype this technology, as the Bell companies, such as Verizon, have been perceived to be in the speed lead with products such as FIOS, their fiber to the home project.

This all seems good to me, as I remember when DS3s seemed fast, and were thousands of dollars a month. OC3 speeds for what I guess will be around $150 certainly has appeal.

Summer of Movie Sequels VII
The News - Movies
Written by Michael Francois
Friday, 20 April 2007
The summer movie season will soon be upon (yes, it is still April), and once again, the pack seems to be lead by sequels. Sigh.

Anyway, here are the sequels that MDF.net will most likely see in the theatres this summer:

May 4
Spider-Man 3 Back in black. How will the Venom storyline be handled?

May 18
Shrek the Third Hopefully it doesn't become a parody of itself.

May 25
Pirates of the Caribbean: At World's End Maybe Chow Yun-Fat will make this interesting.

June 8
Ocean's Thirteen Al Pacino gets robbed; let's hope it is figuratively.
Fantastic Four: Rise of the Silver Surfer It will probably be very bad, and we will still see it in the theatre. This is the power of Galactus.

June 22
Evan Almighty Steve Carell replaces Jim Carey. Didn't see the first, will likely see this, though.

June 27
Live Free or Die Hard Bruce Willis is back in Die Hard 4. Will it tie into the 5th Element? When will they do a sequel to that?

July 4
Transformers Let us hope there is more than meets the eye.

July 13
Harry Potter and the Order of the Phoenix He Who Must Not Be Made Into Less Than Seven Movies.

July 20
Hairspray John Travolta in the movie of the musical of the movie. Baltimore and John Waters, though, so to the theatre we go.

July 27
The Simpsons Movie Doh!

August 3
The Bourne Ultimatum Matt is back for another installment in the role he was 'Bourne' to play.

August 10
Rush Hour 3 Paris here we come.

Though there will be more sequels this summer (Halloween, for example), these are the ones likely to get MDF.net into the theatre.
